I'm delighted to share that in 2020 my super team managed to carry out ELEVEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED face to face contact hours with young people in need and at risk. We supported young people facing a range of difficulties; from wanting to disappear to keeping their foster family together. A truly impactful year.
One mother said "As a foster carer for 15 year I could see the supports were never there, Active Connections can change lives. Our [Young person] had some issues and Active connections gave us so much support and helped us take away guilt we felt, and the sessions have helped him develop the ability and want to set goals and he is now future focused and the future is not that scary for him anymore, this placement wouldn't have worked without Active Connections. I hope ye go nowhere as ye have such an amazing effect on [young person]"
We also carried out further TWO THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE contact hours on our Ember Camp, these are outdoor activities camp specifically aimed at young people with additional needs.
